Artist mentoring & Individual support

I offer one-to-one mentoring for visual artists who want practical support developing their creative practice, planning exhibitions, or building sustainable creative projects.
With over 20 years experience working as a multidisciplinary artist and arts organiser, I support artists at all stages — from those starting out to those rebuilding or evolving their practice.

I believe that artists can help each other and learn from their own experiences, which is why I offer mentoring sessions to suit individual needs. From planning an exhibition, goal setting and website design, to setting up your own project, event or community, I have  experience working with the arts in a variety of settings, including artist studios, not-for-profit organisations, galleries and cultural associations.  After a succession of resets in my own life, including resigning from my own established community and creative business, re-establishing my art career in a new country, and the trauma of a gas explosion destroying my home in 2020, I truly believe that its possible to start again and again on the creative path, and success is not a 'one-size-fits-all'.

I am available to work one-on-one, either remotely or in real life (within the greater Lisbon area) with visual artists of any medium from anywhere in the world who are looking for support with their own creative practices, tailored to the specific requirements of each artist.

By developing your existing skills and identifying new opportunities, mentoring can help you build a support structure that strengthens your art practice.

What artists say

~ Nina has been an ever encouraging and energising presence in my learning to embrace myself as an artist and pursuing new opportunities to explore my art and creative skills. She has a unique ability to connect dots and help spark ideas in others, and generously nurture their creative spirit. I am very grateful to have crossed paths with her at this point in my journey and would recommend her to aspiring artists in any field. ~GW~

~ Nina has been brilliant, helping me channel my ideas, set myself goals, and produce and experiment more. In our discussions we’ve struck up a fruitful way of taking ideas and methods, and figuring how I might develop them in the future.  She’s not a teacher, nor a sounding board: it’s more like having a separate brain alongside your own.  ~GE~

~ Nina's mentorship has been instrumental in helping me tap into my creative instincts and explore new avenues in art. Her encouragement and support have not only enriched my artistic journey but also inspired me to showcase my work in exhibitions, pushing me to continuously grow and evolve as an artist. ~KH~

- Nina really helps to push your art practice forward, in a personal and professional way. She is very experienced in both the artistic and business side of the art practice and understands your individual constraints and needs. She gives wonderful advice, is down to earth and super friendly! ~FS~

~ Nina has been my lighthouse these last few months! She has been the support that I've needed in my first year as an artist / mother. We meet bi-weekly, set goals and she provides the guidance I need to meet those goals. She is wise and experienced beyond her years. One of my goals will be checked off the list this upcoming weekend at my art show. ~RC ~
