A series of three dimensional collage sculptures, each one carved from a single magazine. Searching for a literal sense of place within the prefabricated ideology of a magazine, Found Landscapes seek to question our visual autonomy within a commoditised global landscape.
Magazine pages are torn out to reveal a crudely, or sometimes carefully, constructed landscape. Occupying the space between two dimensional collage and three dimensional sculpture, these ephemeral pieces become objects in themselves, positioning them as showcases of a momentary sense of place within the fabricated terrain of magazine advertising.
