» Disconnected Event (2018)
advertising poster on paper
60cm x 76cm (series of 3)

Exhibition:
QUAL PAISAGEM, Livraria Sá da Costa Galeria, Lisbon, 2019

disconnected event

The process of carefully dissecting a shop advertising poster clears my expectation of the demands of consumption. Reshuffling my perception of image as the main sense, I work with touch, space, and intuition. I realign the image, transforming its position in space, allowing it to elongate past human scale, up and out of my own perceived confinements as a spectator, shopper, statistic. Exploring the theatre behind the spectacle of advertising, the work attempts to expose its fragility whilst simultaneously not denying its attraction.
